Easter Sunday is less than a week away. Easter is not only a great time to celebrate the resurrection, but it is a great time to invite and serve. On Easter Sunday at Sojourn, we will sing about the gospel, preach the gospel, and celebrate changed lives through baptism. Many in Middle Georgia will be looking for a church to visit on Easter, and we want to welcome any that will come to be a part of our gathering.
What does this mean for you?
Who could you invite to celebrate Easter with us. Of course there is never a bad Sunday to invite our family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors, but Easter is a great time to extend an invitation. You never know who may come. May we be sensitive to God’s lead and looking for opportunities to share the gospel and invite people to hear the gospel at a Sunday gathering.
We average about 55 children in the children’s ministry each Sunday. Based on our records from previous years, we expect more than 70 children on Easter Sunday. That means we need more volunteers than normal. Anna, our Children’s Director, has been scheduling and is still seeking to schedule volunteers for Easter Sunday. To all who serve in our children’s ministry, thank you! To all who are serving on Easter Sunday, we want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU! It is a sacrifice to miss the service, and we know that you would most likely love to be in the service on Easter. We appreciate you! You are not only appreciated by your pastors and fellow church members, but we believe your service and sacrifice is an act of worship to God. So, we cannot say it enough, THANK YOU!
If you have not been contacted or scheduled to serve in children’s ministry and would like to make yourself available to serve on Easter, please email Anna at AnnaParrish@SojournChurch.net.
It takes a bunch of volunteers to pull off a Sunday gathering. Not only do we need people to minister to our children, but every Sunday the Setup Team shows up early to set up and stays late to pack up. Our Hospitality Team sets up our lobby environment and welcomes all who come. Our Sound Team ensures that you can hear the music and preaching by setting up the sound and running the soundboard. They not only ensure you can hear it, but we are blessed to have skilled sound technicians that also ensure a high quality of sound. Our Media Team sets up and runs the video camera and computer. This allows us to record the sermons so we can put on our website and allows us to show videos and song lyrics during the gathering. Our Sojourn Band works hard to lead us in worship through song each Sunday morning. Learning new songs and meshing as a band takes time and talent, and we are fortunate to have musicians that selflessly serve.
For all of you that serve, thank you so much. For those that are showing up early, staying afterwards, and practicing extra this Easter Sunday, THANK YOU very much. Serving is not easy. It may require you to drive two cars as a family. It may require one spouse to get all the kids ready, because your spouse is showing up at 8 AM to serve. Serving is almost never convenient, but our church could not do what we do without you. THANK YOU!
If you are interested in serving in any area on a Sunday morning, please email Evan Acres at EvanAcres@SojournChurch.net. He will be able to place you or will pass your information along to the correct ministry leader.
We cannot wait to worship Jesus and celebrate changed lives on Easter Sunday. He is not in the grave. He is alive!
