For over three years, Pastor Patrick McConnell has been an important part of the Sojourn Church Leadership Team, serving as an Elder, Community Group Pastor, Family Ministry Pastor, and so much more. He and his family have been a huge blessing and we are extremely thankful for them and their selfless service for Jesus through Sojourn Church.
God has now opened another door for Pastor Patrick to join the Staff Team of New City Church Macon. Though we are sad to see the McConnell family go, we are thankful that God has given Patrick and his family this opportunity. We rejoice with the McConnell Family and wish them the best as they enter into this new stage of life and ministry.
Pastor Patrick wrote up a brief farewell letter. You will find it below, in italics. Please give it a read and join me in wishing Patrick, his family, and New City Church much grace and blessing in this new season.
Hey Sojourn Family,
When you are a pastor of a church that you deeply love, it is never easy to say goodbye. When we planted what is now Sojourn Church years ago, I had no idea what God had in store for us as a church family. The Lord has taken a handful of people with a passion to see the Gospel impact Warner Robins and has grown the body into an incredible force for good in the city. We praise God for His work!
In Acts 20:28, Paul exhorts the elders to pay careful attention to themselves and to the church. I have been incredibly blessed by my fellow elders, my brothers, as we have worked at shepherding one another and you. My family and I have been richly blessed by so many of you and we are thankful for the friendships that will continue to grow!
God has recently been working in my heart to return to full time ministry and at the same time opened a door at New City Church for me to return. The Elders at New City Church and at Sojourn have agreed upon my return to New City in a full time capacity.
Thank you all for the opportunity to serve alongside you and I look forward to seeing what God will continue to do in Warner Robins through Sojourn Church.
